Hello friends. I’m so glad the church can be together on the Lord’s Day for worship, fellowship, and Bible study. Christmas is now less than two weeks away. My dad told me about time and how it is. The older you get the faster time seems to pass by. We have great teachers at Harding Street who are ready, willing, and able to help us grow in our faith, hope, and love. If you have not been in Bible classes, please finish 2022 strong and enter 2023 with a renewed desire to learn. God is always blessing us, even in the midst of the storms of life. Together we can do so much more.
Please continue to pray for our elders, our deacons, and for every member of the church of Christ at Harding Street for wisdom, guidance, and strength. Visit the “bulletin” section of the website to take a look at those who are sick and in need of your prayers. We all need God’s help and healing. Brother Roger Young had heart bi-pass surgery today (12th). Sister Rosetta Chenault had surgery today as well. Brother Harrell Chapman fell a few days ago and is recovering at home. Sister Willie Fay Mahan remain at Heritage Living Center in Conway. Sister Melissa Freeman is recovering from surgery. I could go on and on. May God bless us all and our family and friends who are suffering.
2022 will soon give way to the new year. There is much to do. Jesus spoke to His disciples in John 4:34-35 and said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest.” Let’s finish this year out strong and faithful and look to 2023 with renewed enthusiasm to show and share the love of Christ with everyone we meet. People are in need all around us. Prices are high. The weather is rainy and cold. Sometimes we can say “Yes” to their requests for help. Sometimes “No” is the best answer to give. We need wisdom, guidance, and strength to know the correct answer. I will be teaching the adult auditorium class on Wednesday evening for the next few weeks on the subject “Pray without Ceasing.” Prayer is the answer to everyone’s every need. Of course, there are specifics to prayer. We will be studying these specifics. I hope you can come out on Wednesday evening to learn.
Remember our “mailbox” located in the lobby. This “mailbox” is for our church mail, for “thank you” notes, birthday cards, sympathy cards, card of encouragement, or even Christmas cards. You can save time and money by bringing your card with you and leaving it in the appropriate slot. Also, please check the “mailbox” when you arrive for worship and Bible study for your mail. Please, let’s make an extra effort to build each other up in the most holy faith by sharing words of love and encouragement. Our “mailbox” is just one way to accomplish this very thing. God is so good. MB
