We only have one life to live! How are we living it? In the evening we close our eyes in sleep and then almost in an instant morning comes and we open our eyes to a new day. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow may never be. Today is ours to live as we choose. We must choose wisely. We have too little time to waste even a moment on things that job us of our joy: regret, worry, disappointment, revenge, hate, fear and such things. Only “a moment” ago, back in February we were talking about how much we were looking forward to spring. Well, here we are. James wrote about life in chapter 4, verse 14; “Life is even as a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” Our entire life is within the “vapor.”
Our Sunday morning series in April is entitled “When God Asks a Question – What Will Your Answer Be?” Or maybe, “God’s Questions – Man’s Answers.” In Genesis 3:8-13 God asked Adam four dynamic questions: #1 – Where are you? #2 – Who told you that? #3 – Have you sinned? #4 – What have you done? We’ll consider these questions and their implications in our own lives today. I think you will find this series very interesting and thought provoking. Brother Bane will be preaching on the evening service in April. We are richly blessed.
We are entering into a busy time for us at Harding Street.
We are hosting the Area Wide Fellowship this Tuesday, April 9th in the Annex. Please make plans to be here to sing, enjoy great Christian fellowship, and a nice meal together with your fellow Christians from the Morrilton and Conway County area.
Next up is our County Wide Ladies’ Day at Harding Street scheduled for this Saturday, April 13th beginning at 8:30 a.m. This will be a very special time for our ladies from all around the area. This is a “ladies only” event. Men: Our ladies need our help setting up the annex for lunch and then cleaning everything up after. There is a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the lobby. Thank you.
Then, Harding Street is hosting our Spring Gospel Meeting scheduled for May 12-15. I’ll be preaching on Sunday morning on our theme, “God – Revealed and Reflected,” then David Riley will preach on Sunday evening followed by Glen Eliot from Greenbrier on Monday, Steve Norris from R and C in Conway on Tuesday, and Daniel Parrish from Crowley’s Ridge College on Wednesday.
Next up – Vacation Bible School is just around the corner.
Today our youth group and the entire congregation welcome Brother Geoffrey Bane as our part-time Youth Minister. Geoffrey is one of our own young men, growing up watching both grandfathers’ (Brother Bane and Brother Camp) serve as elders, preachers, and great servants of God. Brother Bane and I along with the eldership are so very thankful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for providing such a fine young man to serve our youth and the congregation. God just keeps blessing us. We are so thankful
