Welcome from the one and only Morrilton, Arkansas and the Harding Street Church of Christ. Today is the day that the Lord has made. What will we do? We will rejoice and be glad in it. There are so many rich blessings that come to us when we become a Christian and live the Christian life. Let’s take a moment to list a few of these wonderful blessings:
~Salvation from any sinful thought, word, or action that has broken our hearts and the hearts of those we love.
~The promise that everything will work out for our good because we love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose.
~The knowledge that there is no condemnation to us because we are “in Christ” and live not according to fleshly desires, but according to the Holy Spirit of God.
~The fact that God is with us, hearing us, helping us, and protecting us.
~Above and beyond every other physical and spiritual blessing; we have heaven awaiting us in the end.
If you are thinking about becoming a Christian, don’t wait another minute. Take the steps you need to take to be saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus today. Trust Jesus Christ in faith. Repent of any sin. Confess Jesus as Savior and Lord. Be baptized to have your sins washed away. If you are a Christian…maybe you confessed Jesus as the Son of God and were baptized long ago, and have not been living the Christian life, then don’t wait another minute. Repent and choose the pathway of life that leads to heaven.
Our lesson on Sunday focused the final point in our series from 2 Timothy 2:15-19, “The Lord Knows Those Who Are His.” How does the Lord know those who are His? We who are His seek to have His approval. We live our lives in such a way that we are not ashamed. We handle the Bible in the right way. We stay away from wrong and stay close to what is right. We also stand on the solid foundation in Christ. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the One and Only Way, the One and Only Truth, and the One and Only Life. On Sunday evening at 5:00 we focused on what makes us strong.
It is hard to believe that May is upon us. Before you know it, school will be out for the summer, our graduates will be walking across the stage, and we’ll be dreaming of a vacation. Take a look at this week’s bulletin to see our graduates from kindergarten, high school, and college. Graduates, we are so proud of you for your dedication to learning. You did it! But wait! There is so much more to learn. Keep learning, growing, and ever moving forward in the right direction. We are thinking of all the years that have gone by and that is okay for now. Time to look forward to what lies ahead. MB
