Hello. Welcome. Sunday is the Lord’s Day. It is great to be alive, ready, willing, and able to worship God in spirit and in truth! I hope you found your way to worship with fellow Christians somewhere where you live. If you don’t have a place to worship, please visit with us at Harding Street, Morrilton. God is certainly blessing us at Harding Street. You can be part of His rich blessings too.
Our new PLAYPARK is open for playing. Be careful as we go in and out and watch for traffic in the parking lot. Parents: This is a good time to teach your children to look both ways before crossing over to the playpark. To all members: Be especially careful as you enter and exit the parking lot. Thank you so much.
THIS WEEK: The Greenbrier Church of Christ is hosting the Areawide Fellowship on TUESDAY EVENING, September 12th. If you would like to ride with us on the church bus, please be at the church building at 5:00 p.m. The program starts at 6:00 p.m. There will be a delicious meal to share then we will all sing praises to the Lord for all His wonderful blessings. We plan to return home about 7:30 p.m. Come out and enjoy Christian fellowship.
The football season is now in full swing. I found this article in my files this week. Read through it and think about the church.
“It has been said that every football team could use a player who could play every position perfectly, who never fumbles the ball or misses a tackle and who never makes a mistake…but there’s no way to get him to put down his hot dog and drink and come down out of the stands. There is seldom any shortage of critics in the stand who say, after a player has made a mistake, just how the play should have been made. It probably wouldn’t be too difficult to find a person who would have scored the winning touchdown if he had been running the ball. You see, it’s much easier to talk a perfect game than to play one.”
The Christian life is a race that is to be run, a fight that is to be fought, and a life that is to be lived every day, rather than something that can simply be done sitting on the sideline looking on. In Hebrews 12:1-2 the Bible says; “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” We must come out of the stands and participate in the race before us and not just be an onlooker.
