Hello. Welcome. Last week I mentioned the “reasonable” days, weather-wise we’ve had recently…well things have changed. The weather report for this week is 100 to 105 every day with pure cloudless Arkansas sunshine. Whew! Take care of yourself out there. No worry. God has everything in hand.
Our VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is going on NOW at 7:00 p.m. EACH EVENING and continues through Wednesday, August 2. Our theme is “BREAKOUT.” We are studying Jonah, David, Daniel, Jesus, and Peter from the Bible to show how these men broke out of the ordinary to become extraordinary to honor God. We have classes for all ages including adults. Come and see for yourself that you too can be extraordinary. If you haven’t brought your cookies for everyone to share, please bring them with you tonight. VBS is always so much fun, singing, praying, crafting, snacks, and most importantly learning about God’s love, His faithfulness, and what He wants for you and me.
Our Sunday morning sermon series “True Blessings from God” continues with the second answer to the question “What does it mean to fear the Lord and walk in His ways?” Last time we talked about how we must TAKE GOD SERIOUSLY, showing Him and the world that we respect Him and walk in His ways. God is serious. We must be serious too. On Sunday we focused on LOOKING UP TO GOD WITH LOVE AND RESPECT. Psalm 128 lists for us so many wonderful blessings that come to those who “fear the Lord and walk in His ways.” We looked at Isaiah, Moses, David, and Jesus as examples of those who looked up to God with love and respect. What did they do? What should we do? Be where you should be. Do what you should do. Don’t be afraid. Be brave. Love God supremely and enjoy His blessings in your life.
Every Sunday morning at 10:00 we have Bible classes for all ages and interests. Ron Semanek teaches the auditorium class. This quarter this class is studying the book of First Kings. We have a very special YOUNG ADULT class that also meets on Sunday morning at 10. We are studying “Life – According to the Rules – A study of the 10 Commandments.” Though we are not now living under the Law of Moses, the principles of the 10 Commandments still form the ethical and moral basis for all our relationships today. Brother Geoffrey teaches the TEEN CLASS. You will find that your children and grandchildren will receive the very best instruction from God’s word every Sunday and Wednesday. Get more involved by staying for Bible class to study God’s word and bring those you love to share in the greatest lessons of life.
Hang in there. One day at a time. One step at a time. MB
