Hello. Welcome. A big THANK YOU to the Chenault’s and the Freeman’s for hosting our annual Independence Day Get-Together on the 8th. Thank you to Geoffrey for planning and promoting this activity. We literally had a “BLAST.”
Remember our plans this week! A LITTLE DIFFERENT! We will NOT meet at 906 E. Harding Street at 7:00 on Wednesday this week ONLY.
Instead, we will meet at 6:30 each evening, tonight and Wednesday night in the parking lot to travel to Conway for the annual GOSPEL GATHERING at Robinson and Center Church of Christ which begins at 7:00 p.m. Vans leave the parking lot at 6:30 p.m. sharp. I hope you will consider going with us to the meeting in Conway each night. You will be so glad you did. The theme is ONE IN CHRIST – The Cross of Jesus.

Our sermon this past Sunday morning (9th) was “God’s Call to Greatness – A Call to a Greater Mission.” We considered Moses and his call to a greater mission (Exodus 2-4). Moses spent 40 years in Egypt as an Egyptian Prince. Then he spent 40 years in Midian as a shepherd. One day he saw the burning bush and received his call to greatness. He spent the next 40 years leading the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery to the Promised Land. We looked at the things he learned, first as a prince, then as a shepherd that helped him as a leader. It could be that the things you and I are going through are the very things that will help us fulfill our greatest mission in life. Moses learned to lead in Egypt. He learned humility in Midian.
We are certainly growing in spirit, devotion, and numbers at Harding Street. Did you hear that baby Boone Anderson is about to have two new friends at church? Emmy Duvall is expecting a new baby in December. Megan Plummer is expecting a new baby right after the first of 2024. Wow! What a blessing it is to be a Christian! What a blessing it is to have such a wonderful congregation of God’s people to work and worship with!
This Sunday (16th) will begin a new Sunday morning series entitled “TRUE BLESSINGS FROM GOD” from Psalm 128. The Christian life is the very best life to live. When we fear the Lord and walk in His ways we will be happy, nourished, and everything will be well. Our families will be blessed and will be a blessing to us and to the world. We will experience the good of heaven on earth and see our children’s children. Don’t you want this kind of life?
