Hello and welcome. Spring has finally arrived. Wow! And spring came riding on a tornado. We have so very much to be thankful for and happy about even amid so many local and worldwide challenges. Please pray for those in Mississippi who experienced a devastating tornado last week and also for our family and friends in Little Rock and Wynne and the surrounding areas who experienced last Friday’s devastating storms. Also pray for the families in Nashville, Tennessee who suffered an attack on their school and the loss of 3 teachers and 3 small children. It saddens me greatly to have to lock our doors here at Harding Street for our own protection. We want people to come in to learn about Jesus and a better way of life, but we also have to protect ourselves from some who want to hurt us. May God help those in authority and those in the media to understand the need to return to the values we find written for us in God’s word, the Bible. We are blessed to have each other and our Father’s provision.
My grandpa often said, “Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.” I found the following article in my studies.
A smile costs nothing and gives so much. It enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it and none so poor, but he can be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the sign of friendship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and is nature’s best antidote for trouble. A smile cannot be borrowed or stolen for it is something of no value to anyone unless it is given away. Some people are too weary or troubled to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give. Our children sometimes sing; “Smile awhile and give your face a rest. Lift your hands to the One who loves you best. Then shake hands with the one next to you and greet them with a smile.”
Geoffrey and Angel along with several from our youth group had a fantastic weekend at the River Valley Youth Rally last weekend. Thank you to the church there in Van Buren for hosting this annual event for our youth.
COMING THIS MONTH:
APRIL 8 – EGG HUNT FOR OUR CHILDREN (TEENS HELPING)
APRIL 22 – GIVEAWAY DAY AT HARDING STREET
APRIL 29-30 – OUR WEEKEND REVIVAL – FRIDAY, SATURDY, SUNDAY
Last Sunday we focused on TURNING THE PAGE to Spring in the sermon. Winter is behind us. Spring is now ours to plan, work, plant, harvest, and enjoy. God knows just what we need. On the evening we looked at A BEAUTIFUL LIFE – Don’t ever give up. Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap IF WE DO NOT LOSE HEART.” God sees. He knows. He cares. He has and will provide. Just don’t give up. God bless us today and always. MB
