July in beautiful, sunny, and hot Morrilton, Arkansas! Welcome! Teachers and students; are you enjoying your summer? The days are really flying by. Make sure you live every day to its fullest. To our guests every Sunday: THANK YOU for your presence. It is our prayer that you will be encouraged and challenged by what you see and hear as we worship together in spirit and in truth. We sing, pray, study, give, and remember Jesus’ sacrifice in the Lord’s Supper together. If you are not yet a Christian, please consider making the best decision of your life. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Hear His call. Repent of your sins. Confess His name. Be baptized today. If you are a Christian and would like to be a member of the Harding Street church of Christ, we’d love to work and worship with you. If you have questions, please let us know. We’ll answer right from the Bible.
We moved forward Sunday (10th) into our next five-lesson series “Walking in the Way of the Old Rugged Cross – EXPERIENCES.” The title of each lesson will begin with a different letter C-R-O-S-S. When we decide to be a Christian, certain things are required: courage, reason, obedience, sacrifice, and sincerity. As we live the Christian life, we will experience certain things: challenges, responsibilities, opportunities, sorrows, and successes. Sunday, we looked at the “C” – CHALLENGES. Noah was challenged to obey God. He did, even though it took him 100 years to do it. Abraham was challenged to trust God. He did, even though he was 100 years of age when Isaac came along. Moses was challenged to be patient. He was, even though his mission to deliver Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land took 40 extra years. Joseph was challenged to be humble. He was, even though he was sold into slavery, mistreated, imprisoned, and forgotten for 22 years. Esther was challenged to be wise. She was, even though she had to risk her own life for her people. Ruth was challenged to be strong in the midst of the trials of life. She was, and her people were spared, and God was glorified in her life. May we all decide to grow in our faith! Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The more of God’s word we read, study, hear, and reflect on the stronger our faith will be. Psalm 1 teaches us that when we delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night, we will prosper in all that we do.
On the evening at 5:00 we looked at “In an Ever-changing World – Some Things Never Change – Things of Divine Origin Do Not Change.” God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Word never change. I’m so happy about that.
