Yesterday (June 19) was FATHER’S DAY! It was different, not bad, just different because this was the first one with my dad on the other side. Only a few days ago I had the privilege of praying to our heavenly Father with and for my earthly father as he was walking through the valley of the shadow of death. He was lying in the ER in Alabama and lifted his hand with his finger pointing up. My sister asked him if the light was bothering him. He shook his head “No.” She then asked him, “Do you want Mickey to pray?” He shook his head “Yes.” We gathered around his bed to pray and when we finished, he nodded and smiled with an expression of peace. A few hours later he breathed his last and went to rest in Paradise. It was one of those moments in life that will forever stay with me, keeping me balanced, helping me stay on the pathway that leads to heaven. Thank you for allowing me to share such experiences. It helps me in my walk in the pathway of the old rugged cross.
It is always so good to come together every Sunday, Sunday night, and Wednesday night to worship our Father, God in spirit and in truth. We are the Harding Street Church of Christ, showing and sharing the love of Jesus today and every day in ways too many to count. Thank you to every Christian brother and sister for your love and dedication to Christ. Life is tough. Prices…Wow! Is anyone in Washington D.C. representing us, the people? What can we do? Focus on the main thing. Read and remember Proverbs 3:1-12.
#1 – Remember God’s word and keep it for long life and peace.
#2 – Be merciful and truthful for favor & high esteem.
#3 – Trust God and He will show you the way. Look beyond.
#4 – Be humble and kind for health and strength. He’s got this.
#5 – Give to the Lord and He will provide for your every need.
#6 – God disciplines His children. You and I both need it. Let Him.
Once again, we focused our attention on the pathway of the old rugged cross and looked at the “O” – OBEDIENCE. Obedience is required. To obey means to listen to and act accordingly, to yield without complaint or protest, to follow a prescribed course of action. On the evening we considered God’s plan of salvation and asked if we are WILLING. If you want to, if you are willing you can!
