Hello. Welcome. Glad you could stop in for a visit to our website. As with anything else in the world, we’re a work in progress. What happened to spring? It seems that we went from winter straight to summer. Be careful outside. Those 95 degree temps and that Arkansas sunshine can do a number on you if you are not hydrated and in shape. Isn’t it great to be together today to worship God in spirit and in truth? I love the Lord. He has been so good to me. He gave His life from sin to set me free. No greater love than His could ever be. I love the Lord because He first loved me. This is hymn #640 in our books. A good one to sing every day.
Immediately following Bible classes this past Sunday, we enjoyed a delicious lunch together up in the Annex Building to celebrate our May birthdays and anniversaries together.
Congratulations to our graduates: Evan Freeman from Morrilton High School, Lia Lawson from Wonderview High School, Avery Rowland and Alex Pryor from kindergarten, Megan Chapman from Baptist Health with her LPN certification, and Abigail Freeman from UCA. We are so honored to have these fine young men and women with us at Harding Street. We celebrated our graduates after the evening service on Sunday with a “finger-food” social. Our high school graduates received a nice Bible as a guide on their next adventure. Our kindergarten graduates received a stuffie, some Christian activity books to enjoy over the summer. Our college graduates received a 365 day devotional book for to help them on their next adventure.
Our Sunday morning sermon series “Aspects of True Faith” came to a close on Sunday with a lesson about personal commitment. The apostle Paul wrote to the churches in Thessalonica regarding their true faith; “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God.” We have looked at true faith in TIME. Faith is more than words. Faith is action. We have looked at true faith in SACRIFICE. Faith is a labor of love. Faith in demonstrated by love. Love is giving, patient, and requires sacrifice. On Sunday we looked at faith in terms of personal commitment. No one can be a Christian for me. No one can be a Christian for you. True faith is patience and commitment.
On the evening we looked at Jesus’ footprints to check ourselves to see if we are following as closely as we should. Jesus was always TO THE POINT when it came to showing and sharing Himself and the plan to save us from sin. God bless you. MB
