Good morning to you on this beautiful day, the last week in March. We are seeing the cold and rain give way to bright sunshine, warmer temps, and those feelings that say; “Spring has sprung.” Our Arkansas winter is often stubborn. Of course, we know that God’s promises are forever secure. After Noah’s ark landed on the mountains of Ararat God said, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22). God is faithful. No need to worry. I hope you had a terrific Spring Break. Now it’s back to the “grind.”
Our Sunday morning sermon series “Challenges We Must Face – Building Against the Storms” continues. Yesterday we focused our attention on facing the culture we live in, the crisis we live through, and the changes we live with; the rain, floods, and wind Jesus spoke about in His Sermon on the Mount. We must build into our lives the tools to face these challenges; knowing who I am – a Christian saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, knowing who to please – always the Father God, and knowing where I’m going – to heaven. Whatever the question – Jesus is the Answer. He and He alone is THE One and Only Savior. He said it Himself; “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
On the evening at 5:00 we are looking at “Following the Footprints of Jesus” with a lesson on Jesus’ BOLDNESS & HUMILITY. You can actually be bold and humble at the same time. Bold – having the ability to take risks with confidence and courage. Humility – showing a modest or low estimate of my own importance. Jesus did. We can too.
We have Bible class from 10:15 to 11:00 on Sunday and then from 7:15 to 8:00 on Wednesday night. We provide studies for every age and the very best teachers in the brotherhood. Parents: your children need as much time reading and discussing God’s word as possible. And you do too. We all know that having a strong faith in God and His ways is vitally important in today’s world. A strong active faith comes from a study and application of God’s word (Romans 10:17). Let’s do this.
Note a couple of new additions to our facilities. An additional speaker was added in the lobby for our security team and others who might have to take the little ones out for a “break.” Also, two microphones have been added in the auditorium halfway back to help our guests, homebound members, and those who are listening online to hear our singing better. Thank you for your support and cooperation in our move ever forward for the cause of Christ.
We have a long list of those who are in need of God’s intervention and our prayers for them. Take at look at the bulletin just a click or two away from the front page of the website today and pray for those in need. “Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” – I Thessalonians 5:17-18. MB
