Hello family and friends. I hope you are staying strong and smart during these tough tumultuous troublesome times. As you saw this past Sunday, we have too many who are sick at home with the virus or who are staying home due to being with someone who has the virus. Cindi and I have been sick for the past four days. I am thankful that we can meet together in person for worship and fellowship. Let’s be smart, courteous, and patient with each other as we navigate through these storms of life, we are all facing. May God help us to get strong, stay strong, and be strong.
We will continue to provide our services online for those who are sick, shut-in, or for those who are being cautious. Last Wednesday evening we had a few difficulties with our internet being very slow. This happens. If you are having internet issues, just logout and try again later. Also, if you need communion supplies, we have some available to you. Just call Rosetta at the church office (501-354-4337) between the hours of 9:00 and 12:00 a.m. and she will have some ready for you to stop by and pick up. Thank you to everyone for your patience and support during these difficult times. We must be smart, strong, brave, and faithful. Jesus was. He is our example for life and living.
Since I was out sick and Brother Bane was preaching at the Harrison and Willow congregation in Conway, our youth minister, Geoffrey Bane was called up to preach on Sunday. And he did an outstanding job helping us to better understand what it means to believe in God. This coming Sunday I will move forward with our series, “Finding the Joy” and look at how we can find the joy in PRAYER. Our text is I Timothy 2:1-4 where Paul writes about praying with supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thankgivings. We must be a praying people. We must pray without ceasing and without doubting. We must pray for strength, help, and for everyone and everything in every way that we may “lead a quiet and peaceable life,” that the lost may come to know the truth and be saved.
This Sunday evening we will continue in our evening series: “B-R-A-V-E.” B – Brave Christians BELIEVE God. R – They also RESIST in temptation. We will look at Jesus in the midst of His temptation in Matthew 4. He was hungry, yet He resisted. He allowed Himself to be tempted and resisted. The enemy tried to deceive Him, and He resisted and won the victory. He was BRAVE. We can be, MUST BE brave too. When you and I are tempted, (And we have been, are, and will be tempted) do we just give in, or do we fight the fight of faith? I often say, “I’m a lover, not a fighter.” But, when I have to fight or need to fight, I will. I will always fight in love and because of love. We must be brave. MB
