Welcome. We are happy to be together on Sunday in Morrilton, Arkansas and at every meeting time during the week. July is passing quickly with only two more weeks left in the month. August is on the horizon. From what I understand school begins in only 24 days. Cindi and I celebrated this past weekend in Athens, Alabama with our nephew, Spencer Palmer. He and his new bride, Hannah, exchanged their wedding vows and are on their way to a happy Christian life together. Our youth minister, Brother Geoffrey Bane, did an outstanding job preaching a fine lesson yesterday. Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and especially your love for us.
The eldership met this past week and decided to postpone our Vacation Bible School for a couple of weeks to Sunday through Wednesday, August 1-4 at 6:00 p.m. each evening. We all hope that we can move forward with our VBS as the increased virus cases move toward lower numbers. Thank you for your patience and prayers. Continue to pray for the church and our nation as we maneuver to keep us safe.
Our lesson on Sunday evening centered on God, our Father, and the question; “Is Anything Too Hard for God?” The Lord is the One who asked this question of Abraham and Sarah in Genesis 18 when the Lord told them that they were going to have a child. Abraham was 99 years old and his wife, Sarah, was 89 and Sarah literally laughed at the notion. They found out a few months later when Sarah had a son, Isaac, that indeed nothing is too hard for the Lord…NOTHING! We took a short look at Gideon (Judges 6-7), Lot and Sodom (Genesis 18), the spies (Numbers 13-14), and asked ourselves if we believed God or not. I believe Him. Nothing is too hard for Him.
