Hello and WELCOME! We are always happy to be together on the Lord’s Day to remember Jesus and celebrate His life, His teachings, His example, His death, burial, and resurrection, and His secure promise to one day return in clouds to receive us to heaven. This past Sunday, like every Sunday since the Lord established His church we will pray, sing, give, hear a message from the Bible, and commemorate Jesus’ sacrifice by sharing in the Lord’s Supper. Immediately following the morning worship hour and a few minutes of visiting with our guests, we have Bible class together. If you haven’t been to one of our very special Bible classes, you’re missing out. Our adults are studying the Book of Genesis with Ron Semanek in the auditorium. The Young Adults are studying about Faith and how to have a bigger faith with yours truly. The teens are studying with Geoffrey in the Book of Revelation. And our children have their own studies in their age-appropriate classrooms. Class lasts about 45 minutes, and you can be out and headed to Sunday lunch at 11:00. Try it. You’ll be happy you did.
Our sermon series “I died last night” continued on Sunday with a question we might ask on the other side, “Did I Obey the Gospel?” Of course, if we reject the precious invitation of Christ on life’s side of death, asking this question on the other side will be fruitless. Just what do I mean: the gospel? The gospel simply means “Good News.” And I know you know from the question itself that there are commands to be obeyed if we expect to hear the Lord to say, “Well done.” On the evening we looked at lesson #2 as we discuss The Secret to Happiness, START PRAYING.
THOUGHTS FOR THOUGHT
“The essentials to happiness are: Something to live for, someone to love, and something to hope for.”
“One of life’s most difficult things to give away is kindness; it is usually returned.”
“We live in the present, we dream of the future, but we learn eternal truths from the past.”
“This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith – 1 John 5:4.”
Do you love the Lord? Your life will show your love. Are you taking time to read God’s word every day? Do you talk to Him often in prayer? Do you trust Him by doing what He says for you to do? Can you name a few things in your life over the past few days that prove you are a Christian, that show your love for Jesus? Attitudes that say I love the Lord…Actions that show Christ in you…Love in action shows God, others, and yourself that you love the Lord. God bless us. MB
