Good morning to you on this beautiful day. Welcome. I’m so glad that you are visiting our website. Check out our Bulletin. Our secretaries, Rosetta and Shelley along with our Bulletin Editor, Christine do an outstanding job getting everything put together so beautifully. In it you will find a list of those who are in need of our prayers and our care this week. You can also get up to date on all the opportunities to serve, celebrate, and participate at Harding Street/Morrilton. We upload our newsletter every Monday. We post a reminder of important meetings, events, and prayer requests on Facebook. We are indeed blessed to be members of such a wonderful congregation of God’s people, brothers and sisters in Christ. We are growing. We are thankful.
Sunday was “Easter Sunday,” a very special day in the hearts and minds of many in the religious world. Of course, we choose to remember Jesus’ life, death, burial, resurrection, and His promise to return not just one day out of the year, but each and every Sunday, the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week. Our lesson last Sunday was entitled “Our Hope – The Resurrection of Christ.” Because of Jesus’ resurrection, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Because He lived and died and arose from the grave, His blood washes away our sins. Because He lives again, we have the abundant life He spoke about in John 10:10. We know exactly where Jesus is right now; sitting, sometimes standing at the right hand of the Father. We are ready and waiting on the promise of His return to be fulfilled. We realize that His resurrection is our hope for eternal life in heaven. Paul wrote about the importance of Christ’s resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15.
In the evening, we continued in our series “The B-Attitudes” with a lesson on what it means to be pure in heart. Are you pure in heart? Jesus said if anyone is pure in heart, they shall see God. Titus 1:15 is an interesting verse in the Bible. “To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience is defiled.” This is so true. If you are looking for something pure and good, you can find it. Likewise, if you are looking for something sinful, you can find it. The one who is pure in heart finds the good. The one who only professes to know God but lives like they do not, finds what is sinful. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 we find that the impure, the unrighteous will not go to heaven. Paul gives a lengthy list of some in the church who were impure and then writes in verse 11, “And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” I am so happy that I have been washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of Jesus. What about you?
What a beautiful day! Enjoy every moment of it. May God continue to bless us as we move ever forward and upward toward heaven.
