Hello and welcome. We are so happy to have the great privilege of meeting together to worship God in spirit and in truth on every beautiful “spring” Sunday at Harding Street. We have Bible classes immediately following the worship hour on Sunday and invite and encourage everyone to stay and learn from God’s word. You will be glad you did. Winter is giving way to spring. The flowers and trees are budding, the daylight hours are increasing, and “Spring Break” has finally arrived. Enjoy your week!
We welcome two new families to the church of Christ at Harding Street: Matt and Carla Prysock and their sons, Kayden and Lucas. We are so happy to have them worshiping with us at Harding Street. We also welcome a familiar couple: Julian and Midge Reynolds, the father and mother of our Sister Lisa. Make sure you meet these wonderful new members.
Yesterday we continued in our series of sermons “Just What Is the Bible to You.” We have looked at the teachings of the Bible. The Bible is holy. Its precepts are binding. Its history is true. And its decisions are immutable. Yesterday we learned that the “Necessities of Life that are Found in the Bible.” The Bible gives us LIGHT in a dark world, FOOD that supports and sustains us, COMFORT to cheer us on our way, WEALTH, HAPPINESS, and SALVATION now and into eternity. What a Book! God’s word!
On Sunday evening at 5:00 we continued in our study of Jesus’ “B-Attitudes” from His Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 – “Blessed are those who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness.” We looked at the definition of what it means to be blessed and then what it means to hunger and thirst then offered a few pictures that helped us to understand. Ever been hungry…I mean really hungry? Ever been thirsty…I mean really thirsty. Do you hunger and thirst for what it right in the world? If you do, Jesus promises that you will be filled.
To our fellow Christians who have been at home for such a long, long time: Maybe it is time for you to come out and meet with your fellow Christians at Harding Street again. The chances that you will get sick from meeting with the church are extremely low to non-existent. The entire building is clean and sanitized. Almost every member wears a face-covering. There are only a few exceptions due to health issues and these few who need to remove their face-covering do so social distancing in family groups. We share in the Lord’s Supper using individual bread and juice containers in zip-lock bags. And many of your fellow Christian brothers and sisters have already received the vaccine. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We still provide our services online, but online is not the same as in-person. We miss you and we need you in every way.
