Good morning to you on this the beginning of a new week! It was a great privilege to meet together on the Lord’s Day yesterday to worship God in spirit and in truth. Even with many of our members still worshiping from home due to their vulnerabilities to the virus, we had a beautiful group of 101 Christians with friends here in person. Before too much longer we will be at 150+ once again and reaching ever higher toward heaven. Its time to come out and work and worship again.
We welcomed a new family to the church of Christ at Harding Street: Matt and Carla Prysock and their sons, Kayden and Lucas. We are so happy to have them worshiping with us at Harding Street. Make sure you meet them and welcome them.
We are so happy to have Ron, Gereta, and Marcus Semanek back from virus protocol. Same for our sister Geraldine Crow. As of yesterday we only have 11 active cases of the virus in Conway County. We are doing great and moving in the right direction. Let’s keep it up.
Yesterday we continued in our series of sermons “Just What Is the Bible to You.” The Bible is the word of God. The word of Jesus is the word of God. The word of the writers of the Bible is the word of God. The word of God is from God and must be read, believed, practiced, taught, and remembered. The word of God will either stand for us or against us in the Day of Judgment. The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the terrible end of sinners, and the happiness of believers. We looked at what the Bible teaches: Its Doctrine is Holy, exalted and worthy of our complete devotion as it is perfect in goodness and righteousness. Its Precepts are Binding, a rule intended to regulate thought and behavior that cannot be broken. Its History is True, showing us where we came from, where we are, and where we are going. Its Decisions are Immutable, unchanging over time and unable to be changed.
On the evening at 5:00 we continued in our study of the “B-Attitudes” from Matthew 5 – “Blessed are the Meek.” We looked at the definition of “blessed” and “meek.” We also considered some Biblical examples (The Little Lamb, The Tax-Collector, and Jesus) and Practical examples that helped us see what meekness looks like.
Maybe you are searching for a group of people to work and worship with who love God and are walking together toward heaven. We are definitely not perfect and come short of God’s expectations, though we love Him and try to walk in His ways. Come and see for yourself that the Lord is blessing His church at Harding Street in Morrilton. MB
