Hello family and friends! We are so happy to be able to assemble together on the Lord’s Day, Sunday this week for worship, fellowship, and Bible study. It seems that the virus that continues its rampage across the country and around the globe has hit Conway County hard over the past several days. Thankfully, we are whole and healthy at Harding Street and for that we are so thankful. Please see that you spread out a little bit more on Sunday in the auditorium and also in Bible class at 10:15. Also make sure you wear your face covering during the worship hour and also during class if at all possible. We realize that some may not be able to do this. Please be considerate toward our sisters and brothers who have issues with wearing a face covering due to health and other reasons. We are just trying to be as smart and safe as possible for each other. We must choose faith over fear during these troublesome times. Do you remember Psalm 46:1-3? I especially love verse 10. We can trust God.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar, and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling.”
“Be still and know that I AM God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!”
This Sunday we will conclude our sermon series “Adjustments – Will I Do What I Should Do?” with a lesson that will show us that God has always required those who follow Him to change, to make adjustments in their lives to fulfill His purpose. We will look at a few New Testament examples: Jesus’ parents, the Apostles, a sinful woman, Legion, those at Pentecost, and Paul. What is God asking you to do that you haven’t done or might not want to do? What is God asking you to stop doing, something that you really want to continue to do even though that thing is hurting you? When we follow God’s instructions, happiness, prosperity, and salvation is the result.
On Sunday evening we will once again focus our attention on love and follow a plan to revitalize our love for God, others, ourselves, and for life in general. The lesson is entitled, “Opening Our Hearts to God.” God opens His heart to us by demonstrating His love. Have you opened your heart to God? Are you showing your love for God in ways that He can see?
Remember the “Harvest of Hope Food Drive” for the Conway County Care Center and bring Spaghetti noodles and Spaghetti sauce. As you can see, we are doing a great job collecting these items for the Care Center. We plan to deliver these items to the care center this Thursday, November 19th. Thank you for your generosity to those in our area who are hungry.
Pray this week for THOSE WHO ARE SICK. Pray for THOSE WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO BE WITH US DUE TO THEIR VULNERABLITY TO THE VIRUS. Pray for OUR LEADERS. Pray that God will give us STRENGTH, FAITH, LOVE, WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, and THE FULLNESS OF GOD. Paul prayed this for us in Ephesians 3:14-19.
