We are doing well in Morrilton, Arkansas at the foot of Petit Jean Mountain on the banks of the Arkansas River. We continue to do all we can to show and share the love of Christ whenever and wherever we can while at the same time staying free from the virus. Every week our facilities are cleaned, sanitized, and refreshed. When you see Charles and Myrna Medlock, offer them a special word of gratitude for all they do to see that we are clean and germ-free every week. We will continue to provide a face-covering, gloves, individual communion supplies, and hand sanitizer for every Harding Street member and guest. When you see Olen and Diann Hill, let them know how much we appreciate their service. Even though it is hard to do, we forego a hardy Harding Street handshake and offer an elbow, fist bump, or just a “hello” and a smile through our “mask.” Thank you to every Christian brother and sister for your patience, kindness, and support during these troublesome times. God is so good to us. Life is full of “ups” and “downs” and we must find ways to deal with whatever comes up or down to us. The sooner we see, learn, and adjust the better and happier we are.
New at Harding Street: Take a look at our newly painted and updated classrooms. Our teachers are decorating the bulletin boards in preparation for Bible classes to resume very soon we hope. Also, we finally have a new much needed dumpster adjacent to the Annex Building in preparation for all the activities we plan to have as soon as we are free to have them. And what about the new digital outdoor sign? Isn’t it beautiful? And it can be changed from anywhere in the world via a computer or cell phone.
School is now is session. Some teachers and students are in the classroom at the school and others are in the classroom at home. Wherever you are, it is time to learn and grow inward, outward, and upward. Patience, kindness, and initiative are keys to learning. We are called to be patient and kind to our teachers, to our fellow students, and to ourselves. We are also called to take the initiative to learn and grow to the next level and beyond. Let’s do this.
This Sunday (23rd) during our sermon time we will focus our attention on another obstacle that could keep us from being “Useful and Fruitful” in the task we are called to perform: FEAR. Are you afraid of what people might think, say, or do? Peter made many bold statements. In Matthew 26 he told Jesus that even if everyone else does, that he would never do such a thing. Well, things didn’t turn out like he planned when he tripped over the obstacle of fear. On Sunday evening we will focus our attention on having PEACE IN GOD. God bless us all.
Time and life keep moving forward. I can almost hear Jesus saying this now; “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” He did state this and Matthew wrote these instructions down in Matthew 5:14-16 in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.
