We’re making progress. Moving ever forward showing and sharing the love of God in the gospel of Jesus Christ, still as powerful today as the good news ever was. What did the apostle Paul write in Romans 1:16?
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
Congratulations to our new brother in Christ, Landon Stover. Landon came to confess Jesus as Lord and Savior and be baptized into Christ on Friday, July 3, 2020. Also, we have a new Christian sister. Our friend and sister in Christ Lisa Reynolds has been visiting with us for several weeks and has decided to work and worship with us at Harding Street. We are so thankful to God for these two new members at Harding Street in Morrilton.
Also, the stalls and doors are now in place in the Annex ladies’ restroom. Soon we’ll add new paint, hardware, a baby changing table, and decorations. Thank you to Devo Scroggins and his assistants for taking care of this job for us.
The paint is going up in our classrooms and we will soon be adding new bulletin boards, writing boards, and decorations as we ready our rooms for Bible classes as soon as possible.
In addition to this our new outdoor digital sign will soon be up and running. The concrete was poured this past week. Next thing you know you will pass by to see this beautiful modern digital sign telling the world more about Jesus and His church. Thank you Bill Brice for getting our sign ordered and delivered and to Collin Hammett and his staff for installing this wonderful addition that will help take the gospel out to our community through the media. Thank you to the entire church for your patience and your support as we keep moving forward during these troublesome times.
Our lesson on Sunday morning is entitled “A Picture of Jesus – A Picture of You and Me.” What did Jesus look like? Was He tall, dark, and handsome? Was he shorter, more rugged, rough, and tough? After all Jesus’ earthly dad was a carpenter, a builder. No wonder He came to earth as a carpenter’s son. He has always been a Builder. Though we don’t know much about His earthly features, we can get a picture of Him from His words, actions, and lifestyle. We will read from Isaiah 53 and Philippians 2 see Jesus.
On Sunday evening we will continue in our series, “I Know That I am a Christian Because…I AM PERSUADED.” Are you a Christian? How do you know? Well, in the Bible there are three places where we find the name we wear, Christian: Acts 11:26, Acts 26:28, and 1 Peter 4:16. I know that I am a Christian because I am a disciple of Christ. I know that I am a Christian because I AM PERSUADED. King Agrippa was “almost persuaded.” I am not almost, but altogether persuaded. What about you?
