Welcome family and friends! We all are so happy to have the opportunity to gather together again on Sunday to worship God in spirit and in truth, to study God’s word and allow Him to move us from here to there, and to enjoy rich fellowship with one another. Thank you so much for your love and support for the work of the church of Christ here at Harding Street. Our nation is certainly in terrible pain and sorrow from the sinful actions of a few people who have rejected the light and have chosen the darkness. Let us not join them in their ungodly behavior nor yield to the enemy’s temptation nor allow these terrible events to cause us to lose sight of our mission for Christ Jesus to show and share His love and salvation in His name with the world. Now and forever in the end in Christ we win.
The elders met on Thursday to discuss our plans moving forward regarding the virus that is all around us and seems to be increasing slightly in Arkansas. Though we do not have any active cases in our area, we want to keep it that way. We will continue to assemble on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The ladies will meet for Ladies Bible Class on Tuesday’s at 10:30 a.m. We will continue to post all our services on Facebook LIVE for any who might not be available to meet in person. We will NOT have any other activities or events at Harding Street at least until July. This means that our monthly Birthday/Anniversary Potluck has been postponed until July 19th. We will NOT have any children’s, teen’s, or young adult Bible classes in June.
Teens: Be listening for Geoffrey to host a ZOOM session in the coming days. This may be a good way to communicate within your group.
Our “old” outdoor sign has been removed. Our new digital sign will be installed very soon. We plan to begin updating our classrooms very soon with new paint, chairs, tables, whiteboards, and bulletin boards. We hope these improvements will help us to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Our sermon on Sunday morning is entitled “Winners and Losers – Why Would Anyone Want to Follow Jesus?” My answer to this question is simply; “Because Jesus is a Winner.”
A winner is a part of the Answer. A loser is a part of the Problem.
A winner has a plan. A loser has an excuse.
A winner says, “Let me help you.” A loser says, “That’s not my job.”
A winner sees a solution to every problem. A loser sees a problem to every solution.
A winner says, “Yes, it may be difficult, but it is possible.”
A loser says, “It may be possible, but it is too difficult.”
Jesus is a Winner. Jesus has conviction. He knows how to communicate. And Jesus is certainly a team player. We will look at these three points, then finish next Sunday (14th) with the remaining two points. On Sunday evening at 5:00 we will look again at God’s Eternal Promise – Forgiveness.
