Welcome friends. How are you doing with the new old back to school routine? Hopefully everyone is adjusting well, getting up a little earlier, being better organized, and always looking forward to the weekend. With all the “busyness” in our lives, may we always put God first in our thinking, speech, and in our decisions. Jesus spoke about such things in His Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things (food, clothing, shelter, and our daily needs) shall be added to you.”
It certainly is good to have Olen and Dianne Hill back with us at Harding Street. They sold their house in Van Buren and bought a house on Church Street on the same day. God is good. He continues to bless us with just what we need. And they made it in time for our new Church Directory. We begin taking pictures next Sunday, September 1 right after Bible class. A’s, B’s, and C’s; please plan on staying for just a minute or two to get your picture made. No buying and selling…No posing…Just beautiful Christians with smiling faces thankful for God’s blessings showing and sharing their happiness in pictures.
UPDATE ON OUR ANNEX RENOVATION – We’re almost finished. The cabinets have been professionally built and installed by Mark Chapman, Chris Chapman, and J.D. Plummer and their staff. The entire kitchen is gorgeous and the backsplash…Wow! The appliances are in place. The new commercial dish washer is ready to be used. The renovation of the ladies restroom is almost complete. Much of the pots, pans, and other items have been cleaned and organized. We’re almost ready to celebrate with a Harding Street family get-together. Plan on September 15th for a grand Birthday and Anniversary Celebration after Bible classes. Let’s put our new kitchen to use.
CONWAY COUNTY GOSPEL MEETING – OCTOBER 20-23 @ HARDING STREET! We will be hosting the Annual Conway County Gospel Meeting this year. Our theme is “Lord, teach us.” Mark your calendar and get ready for a great meeting of fellow Christians in Conway County, Arkansas. Each evening service begins at 7:00 p.m.
The topics are:
Sunday Morning – Lord, teach us to REMEMBER CHRIST (The Lord’s Supper) – MB
Sunday Evening – Lord, teach us to SHARE THE GOOD NEWS – Charles Bane
Monday Evening – Lord, teach us to PRAY with Keith Moore/Center Ridge
Tuesday Evening – Lord, teach us to GIVE with Rod Leslie/Downtown
Wednesday Evening – Lord, teach us to SING with Cody Bradford/Perryville
Brother Bane will continue his series of lessons on Sunday morning on the importance of every Christian being involved in the work of the church. We are the body of Christ and as members of His body we all have so much to offer in His service. True joy is found in the giving of our time, talent, and treasure so that the world may know the salvation we have in Christ Jesus. I will continue in our Sunday evening series “Living Life the Way Jesus Lived Life” with a lesson on guarding our words and expressions. Jesus was a Master at knowing what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. We can live our lives like He lived His life. Come and see.
