Hello everyone. It certainly is good to be home after few days away. Cindi and I made a trip to Pensacola, Florida this past week for the Arkansas “Big I” Insurance Conference. Cindi represented UCA at the conference. Thank you for the time away. It was good to visit my parents and my sister in north Alabama on the way down for a day or two, then visit my brother in Fairhope, Alabama as well. Dad is 83 and mom is 81 and doing well. I am thankful. There’s no place like home. This week on Wednesday, July 3rd we will have two dear Christian sisters from Florida visiting with us through Sunday. I’m looking forward to showing them how special the church of Christ at Harding Street really is. Not bragging, just stating facts.
VERY SPECIAL SERVICE THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 30TH @ 5:00 PM – Our young men will be conducting the evening service. They will be leading the singing, reading scripture, leading in prayer, serving the Lord’s Supper, and sharing a lesson from God’s word. Brother Geoffrey will be preaching. We are very blessed to have such a dynamic group of young men and women at Harding Street who exemplify Christ every day. Please be here Sunday evening to support them. You’ll be so glad you did. Our plan is to have a youth led service every 5th Sunday. We’ll see how it goes.
We now have two adult class offerings on Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m. at Harding Street. Brother Camp is teaching the auditorium class on the book of Romans. I have the privilege of teaching a “Young Adult” class in the Annex up and across the parking lot on the Parables of Jesus. It is our aim to add an additional “mixed” adult class in the near future on Sunday mornings in the classroom where the ladies meet on Wednesday evening. May God continue to bless us with new Christians as we show and share the gospel of Christ Jesus every day in every way.
SAD NEWS for us, but GOOD NEWS for BROTHER SAM ROACH: Our dear brother Sam Roach will be moving to Mississippi to live with his son and family next week. This Sunday will be Brother Sam’s last Sunday with us. The world is always changing. It will be especially difficult for Brother Bane and myself as we preach from time to time looking out into the audience and noticing an empty place where our Brother Sam always sits. At the same time, we both realize that Mississippi is exactly where Brother Sam needs to be, closer to his son and family. My God bless Brother Sam, his son, and the rest of his family as they makes this transition.
COMING SOON – Get ready for a new 2019 Church Directory. We’re getting everything ready to begin in the next few weeks. Be listening for what you can do to help.
Sunday is the Lord’s Day. Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow may never be. This day is ours. What shall we do with our “today?” Live every moment of your “today” to its fullest. That’s my plan.
