Graduation is just around the corner for a lot students. Final exams and the feeling of summer approaching are all students can think about. When I graduated from high school I felt relief, but also a sense of urgency. I knew that I still had a lot of years ahead of me; however, as you get older those years seem to just fly by. It is so important to stay in the present and feel gratitude for it. After high school, there is still so much life waiting for you; however, stressing yourself over what is to come is not the way to go.
Each day is a new day and we should feel so grateful for that. “We no not what tomorrow may bring” but we are instructed to “not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will be anxious for itself” (James 4:14 and Matthew 6:34). If we spend our time worrying about the future or even the past we miss out on so much in the present. It is so easy to forget all the blessings we have and feeling grateful for them when we are overcome with moving to the next thing.
Members of our youth will graduate this year–whether it be high school, college, or even kindergarten–and we must show our support for them as they grow older physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is important to remember that God has a plan for each one of us and through him we can do all things. Without a strong support system from the church, it is easier to stray. That urgency we often feel can get in the way of what we know we should be doing as Christians
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13
